In each exercise below, you are given some numbers.  Insert operations symbols (+, -, x, ÷) and parentheses so that a true mathematical sentence is formed.

1. You cannot change the order of the numbers and you must observe the order of operations.

a. 5    4     3    2    1 = 3	b. 5    4     3    2    1 = 0
c. 5    4     3    2    1 = 1	d. 5    4     3    2    1 = 50

 

2.  You cannot change the order of the numbers, but you may put two numbers together to form a two-digit number.  You must observe the order of operations.

a. 1   2   3   4    5   6   7   8 = 90

b. 8   7   6   5    4   3   2   1 = 25

 

3.  You can change the order of the numbers and you may put numbers together to form a two- or three-digit number. You must observe the order of operations.

Using these four digits:     4 3 2 1

Make these four totals:	a. 1312	b. 2
	c. 16	d. 1
