Mainland High School · CCTT

These web-based activities were developed, during summer sessions from 1997 through 1999, by students at Mainland High School, located in Daytona Beach, FL. As part of Mainland's CCTT grant, the students were given permission by the book's publisher to convert the ancillary materials of the County's adopted Algebra 1 Textbook into html format.

Class Activity: Homeward Bound

The rangers at an aid station receive a distress call from a group camping 60 miles east and 10 miles south of the station.

A jeep is sent to the campsite. It initially travels directly east for an unknown number of miles before turning and heading directly towards the campsite.

Submit your solution with all necessary calculations and an accompanying well-labeled diagram.
