In each exercise below, you are given some numbers. Insert operations symbols (+, -, x, ÷ and parentheses) so that a true mathematical sentence is formed.

1. You cannot change the order of the numbers and you must observe the order of operations.

2. You cannot change the order of the numbers , but you may put two numbers together to form a two-digit number. You must observe the order of operations.

3. Make these four totals using these four digits:      4  3  2  1
    You can change the order of the numbers and you may put numbers together to form a two- or three-digit number. You must observe the order of operations.

c.  16 d.  1
