* CONCERNING YOUR TECHNICAL ADVISOR *Each team is required to locate a Technical Advisor of their choosing who will assist via e-mail in the development of Project Homepages. Eligible persons may include scientists or engineers who are employed in local businesses, parents of students or friends of the school. They may work at small or large companies, government organizations or academic institutions. It is imperative that they are familiar with the technology application your team selected, that they have read the Technical Assistance section to participate in the Fair and that they are willing to provide on-line guidance from September through December.!!! If a team does not have access to a scientist or engineer at local companies or agencies to participate as a technical advisor, the Fair staff will assist you !!!Submit your concept paper as noted above and indicate you will need assistance in locating a Technical Advisor. It will take a few days to a week for our staff to locate an appropriate Technical Advisor for your team. We ask for your patience during this period. !!!4. Your teacher decides which teams concept papers will be entered in the Fair. Selected Concept Papers need to be e-mailed by the teacher to the Fair Director through October 30, 1998. 5. When the concept papers are received, Fair staff will review the submittals to determine if the information is complete. Within five working days, the teacher who submitted the Concept Paper on behalf of a team (or teams) will receive an e-mail from Fair staff which will include an ISTF Project Number. This number is to be used for all e-mail correspondence with the Fair. Upon receipt of the ISTF Project Number, teams may proceed immediately with preparation of their project homepage. It is suggested that the student/teacher team e-mail their concept paper to the their technical advisor for purposes of helping them become familiar with the scope of the Project Homepage. Please remember, all communications throughout development of your Project Homepage with your technical advisor must be conducted via e-mail. |
