Rose Bay team members (students and
teachers) participate in community service activities at the park including visitor
education, removal of exotic plants, trail making and maintenance, trash pickup, and
scientific data gathering for state and local environmental agencies. Students are also
responsible for recruiting outside volunteers, like the Mormon Church group that provided
three hundred volunteer hours to clean up and clear trails. Students have solicited and
received thousands of dollars in food and equipment donations from many area businesses
such as Sam's Wholesale Wal-Mart, Winn-Dixie, Publix, and Albertson's. The Rose Bay team
has devoted thousands of hours to the project. |
