It's a little too intricate (expensive to make) for the power produced. We spend a lot of effort here to ensure the cells hermetically sealed. Any corrosion will destroy the soldering. You have a mechanical linkage that would be difficult to seal out moisture. If you want to generate power, you need lots of surface area. Blinds are not a good place to go looking for lots of surface area. You don't want the distinction of producing the world's most expensive electric power. Tell the kids to keep thinking of ideas.
